Catrines Paper Mache Bride and Groom.

A set of two beautifully crafted papier-mâché pieces, commonly known as "Catrines" (Catrina and Catrín), are the most representative figures of Mexican folklore associated with the Day of the Dead.

True to the Catrín/Catrina tradition, both figures are depicted as elegant skeletons, with visible bone structures for the hands and faces painted to resemble skulls, including empty eye sockets, defined nasal cavities, and sewn or outlined mouths, giving them a stylized, somewhat solemn yet artistic expression.

El Catrín is dressed in a comfortable black suit, characteristic of formal attire. He wears an elegant white ruffled neck tie with a gold bow tied around his neck, a classic black top hat, and white shoes that stand out against his dark suit.

The Catrina  She is dressed in a vibrant and striking long red dress. The skirt is full and flares out at the bottom with pleats. Her most striking feature is her enormous and voluminous red sombrero or headdress, which matches her dress. This oversized hat is very typical of José Guadalupe Posada's original depictions of La Catrina.

With 90 high, 12 wide and 3 deep , these Catrines are the perfect gift at any time and for any place measurements.
