It's a typical piece of Mexican folk art, specifically an alebrije from Oaxaca, carved in wood and meticulously hand-painted. The style is imaginative and detailed, fusing the animal form with abstract and symbolic designs.

It depicts a coyote in a howling posture, richly decorated with a profusion of geometric patterns and vibrant colors, where the pose of the raised head and the body slightly tilted back stands out, capturing the moment of the howl.

The alebrije is an explosion of color, with predominant shades of blue, turquoise, purple, red, orange, and touches of yellow and black.

The most distinctive features are the patterns covering the entire body, which feature zigzag lines and patterns reminiscent of spikes or arrows in shades of blue and turquoise. On the back and tail, complex geometric patterns with triangular and diamond shapes in shades of red and orange can be seen.

Approximate measurements: 5.5” high X 6.5” deep X 2” wide.
