These hummingbird alebrijes are colorful and detailed pieces of Mexican craftsmanship, carved from copal wood, ready to be displayed or hung as an artistic representation of this agile and beautiful bird.

In various cultures, the hummingbird symbolizes joy, adaptability, energy, and the pursuit of goodness, so this alebrije could also evoke these meanings. In the Zapotec culture, where many alebrijes originate, animals are considered nahuales, or spirit guides.

Richly hand-painted, they feature detailed decoration with a vibrant, contrasting color palette that creates striking visual effects, especially on the wings and body, with stylized floral patterns and other graphic elements that highlight the beauty of the bird.
